ASUS brings the first Overclocking Competition in the Philippines!

Marked in History last May 23, 2009 for the first Live Overclocking Show in the Country happens at SM City Cebu Entertainment Plaza brought to us by ASUS, the leader in Overclocking Technology.
Two teams from the region, each composed of four OC enthusiasts and record-breakers, will be showing off their skills in both the latest AMD and Intel Platforms to get as much as P50,000 worth of token cash and hardware. Each team will try to outdo each other in the following categories:
Highest % Overclock
Highest CPU Mhz
Highest Bclock
Highest memory speed (any timing)
Highest 3DMark Vantage score in the overclocked system
Highest Super PI
Since overclocking is a means of tweaking your computer hardware to function above its original specifications, there is a need for the best performing and most efficient hardware during the showdown.

Asus, the world’s no. 1 motherboard manufacturer, will be providing the teams with top hardware such as the latest Intel Core i7 board – Rampage II Gene and the OC record-breaking AMD-based motherboard, M4A79-T deluxe.

The Asus Rampage II Gene is part of Asus’ Republic of Gamers (ROG) series. As the name suggests, all R.O.G products are made to provide the best performing solutions for serious gamers and overclockers. Rampage II GENE echoes this as it boasts premium features such as MemOK! for worry-free memory upgrades, CPU Level Up for easy system performance boosts, and onboard SupremeFX X-Fi for true-to-life surround sound in a compact mATX form.

The Asus M4A79-T deluxe motherboard on the other hand, features the unique Asus Xtreme Phase Power design, also evident in most Asus motherboards. It utilizes more phases to deliver more power and achieve better performance, more stability, enhance power efficiency, and lower temperatures under any loading.

The teams will also use the latest graphic cards from the brand such as the ASUS EAH4890 and ASUS ENGTX285.

Besides from these top-notch motherboards, the overclockers will also be using memory from OCZ, Caviar Black hard disks from Western Digital, Sunbeam coolers, Silverstone power supply and cordless mouse and keyboard from Logitech. Microsoft Corporation will provide the operating systems.

Viewers didnt go home empty-handed, as Asus will also be giving away cool gadgets to lucky audience participants during the Asus Q & A.

My weekend never been that stimulating!

After a half day of work from the office then feels the change of setting from routined workaday from Cebu Business Park to upwind Mactan Island where Maribago Bluwater Beach Resort Rests. At exactly 3:00pm on my phone, we jumpstart towards the destination terminus, where She Embraces the Charm Of Island Living: Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort!
When we reached the resort, we are then given a necklace of sea shells (which i fell makes us very special) and offered a Vitamin C enriched drink and introduced to a tour guide that showcases us the first class of its kind Amenities of Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort. Guess what next? the Swimming Sessions! We did our wet sessions at the cove and afterwards at the Village Pool I guess that is situated somewhere beside te shark Aquarium. And theirs an assurance that those sharks can't go swimming with us. Kidding!

Asus Ultimate 2009 Overclocking Show

When I bought the parts of my Personal Computer last year, One thing I have considered is to choose a MOBO(motherboard) that would fit both Gaming and Graphics, generally maximizing its capacity to handle heavy task. I've read forums, used search engines and ask Computer enthusiasts to answer this need.
Luckily I am, one of my colleague here in my workplace knows much about this stuffs and he even knows more than overclocking and maximizing PC performance and speed!
He highly recommended ASUS Mobos and parts because of its abilty to be subjected for Overclocking. Overclocking by the way, is a state of process where a Personal Computer is running at a higher clock rate than it was specified in the packaging from the manufaturer. Gamers and PC enthusiasts finds out that this specs can be utilize more by adding some modification and techniques to the original hardware and software combinations to boost once PC performance and speed. Designed-wise this technique was forseen already by the Manufacturers, one of them is ASUS.
In lieu of my introduction, there will be an ASUS PC Fair, May 14-24, 2009 at SM City Cebu Atrium, near Kameraworld featuring "ASUS Ultimate 2009 Overclocking Show" on May 23, 3-5pm at SM Entertainment Plaza, near Food Court. A PC Overclocking skills competition using the top Hardware from different brands. First in Cebu to have this type of competition as far as i have known.
It would be an exciting event and we, Cebu Bloggers Society will also be there for the event.
