Registration for National Election 2010 will Commence!

Registration will be from December 2, 2008 to December 15, 2009(Take note of the inclusive dates, its enough for you to find schedule to register at you most comfortable time) at the Office of the Election of the district/city/municipality where the you reside. This include, applications for registration, transfer of registration records, reactivation and changes/corrections of entries in the registration records/inclusion of registration records/reinstatement of name in the list of voters.

In my own personal view of this activity, I guess it'll be better than the last Registration Period since this time it is more on luxury of time. I remember the time when I have my Registration in Lapu-Lapu City, where system is poorly implemented that may encourage legal age citizens not to register because of variations of arising personal concerns and interests. I hope it wont be the same again. Ill crossed my fingers.
Anyways Lets support this event and just enjoy with the tradition!

Cebu Guitar Festival 2008

I received an email from a fellow member of a Guitar Club about 1 week already about this November Event, Cebu Guitar Festival 2008. I want to share the details here with its carrier event-poster.

And I guess this is the first. Am I right?

Guitar Christmas Lanterns

Guitar-making is one of the Industry and crafts of Cebu more specifically in Lapu-Lapu City. They have it displayed on Guitar Stores around the Island and some are exported nearby Islands like Manila, Davao and even places outside Philippines.

Yesterday, We attended the 6pm Novena Mass at Our Lady of the Rule National Shrine(Birhen sa Regla sa Opon National Shrine) since I used to attend mass in Marigondon(Our Lady Of the Sacred Heart-Parish). And there's this flocks of devotees of all sorts: ages, companions, purpose and wherever they belong.

The Mass just go smooth except for the buffering Sound system of the choir.

After the mass, We decided to detour and have a drop at the City Plaza where, Again, people of all sorts mixed up. Everything is okay and what is new was the Christmas Lanterns(Parol as popularized locally) that are in shaped of Small Guitars. So Ive got a camera then I got some pictures out of it and hit a tricycle ride back home where I spend dinner.

Lapu-Lapu City is showing what they've got as one of primary crafters of Word Class Guitar Products by extending the icon of the island in to Christmas Lantern.

Opon (Lapu-lapu City) Fiesta is Approaching

Today well be the start of the Novena Celebaration of my hometown-Lapu-Lapu City. Old Folks used to call the place "OPON" and until now the word is still widely used especially in around 40s-50s yrs old devotees. Others also termed "MACTAN" for the entire Island but Geographically it is called Lapu-lapu City, one of the highly urbanized City in Metro Cebu and the entire Province.
As part of the tradition the town used to have a "FLUVIAL PARADE" around the Island from Pacific Cebu Resort to Muelle Osmeña Wharf, passing great beaches Plantation Bay, Blue Water, Tambuli and hotels Shangrila, Hiltons and many more luxurious landmarks sitted by the sea.
I used to attend the event but unfortunately last year and this year Im not able to do it because its more on schedules and availability.
Anyways I've got old images from the 2006 Fluvial Parade and Im having it posted for you to have some visual exploration.

Indeed, Lapu-Lapu City Fiesta have more highlights to launch. And those activities will happen in the whole month of November even extended. All festivities and activities are in honor of the Miraculous Patron in Opon, "BIRHEN SA REGLA"(OUR LADY OF THE RULE).The date is November 20-21.
